Provided services to the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) to perform a detailed constructability review (CR) for VA NY Harbor Healthcare System - Manhattan VAMC - CD refresh project. The CFM process of constructability review of the construction documents addresses biddability, constructability, operability, environmental, and sustainability characteristics of the project. The review is based on overall scope of the project, project schedule, VA’s codes, standards and design manuals, construction drawing and specifications. Constructability review services were provided for this project that included the renovation of business, industrial and storage occupancy spaces an area of approximately 31,962 square feet. 

Reviewed and commented on AECOM CD refresh documents for this $237M project. Analyzed MEP, building envelope, code compliance, constructability, and cost estimates (independent and comparison). 

The SIRIS team was able to using planning eliminate the need to have off-site loading dock service, maintain autopsy capability at the campus, eliminate interruptions to the loading dock, and reduce the number of phases from 6 to 4 saving over 1 year in construction duration and saving the client millions of dollars in construction cost and multiple millions in off-site storage fees.
