EMERGENCY ENTRANCE RELOCATION

MEMORIAL HERMANN - TEXAS MEDICAL CENTER

Houston, Texas  |  50,000 square feet |   Completion 2016

"Chris provides leadership and good judgment, and I trust his instinct, abilities, and perspective. I work closely with Chris and am always impressed with his commitment to protect the interest of the client."

—LANCE FERGUSON, MBA/MHA VICE PRESIDENT, HOSPITAL OPERATIONS MEMORIAL HERMANN

Due to adjacent construction in preparation for their expansion the Emergency Department needed to be renovated and the entrances shifted. The problem was there was no apparent location for the ambulance entrance. Chris worked with the design team to develop a solution which removed the first floor to allow for ambulances to drive through. During construction this was difficult because on one side you had operating rooms on level 2 and the other side you had medical ICU patients who required 24/7 detailed care. Chris helped manage the careful demolition of the first floor with no service shutdowns to the ICU and coordinated heavy demotion work with the surgeons use of the operating rooms.
